BALLARI: Two police personnel have been taken into custody on charges of beating and killing a man accused in a domestic dispute case. The accused policemen are Head Constable Raghavendra and constable Venkatesh of Hagaribommanahalli police station into custody.
The victim Khalil (38) was brought to the station on Saturday night following a fight between him and his wife. The deceased Khalil’s wife Shainaz has filed a complaint alleging that he was brought to the station and murdered. Based on wife Shainaz’s complaint, an FIR has been registered by Vijayanagara SP Jahnavi.
The police had initially claimed that Khali had died after a bout of epilepsy. After the incident, Ballari Range IGP D. Harsha visited and inspected the spot. Currently, the police are questioning the arrested policement. SP Jahnavi and Deputy SP Mallesh Doddamani are stationed at Hagaribommanahalli.
