BENGALURU: The Peenya traffic police take into custody a man who was running a mini bus with a fake number plate. The vehicle owner was operating the vehicle with the registration number of another vehicle.

The mini bus owner had been evading tax due to the government for many years and running the bus. The mini bus that was operating between Tumakuru and Bengaluru using a fake number plate has also been seized in Bengaluru.

When police tried to clear a bus that was parked on the road, they got the original owner’s mobile number using the bus registration number. When they called the owner, it came to light that the bus was being run with a fake number plate.

Veeresh, the owner of the genuine mini bus with the original number plate then filed a complaint at the Peenya traffic police station. The owner with the genuine number plate is from Doddaballapur. His mini bus also runs there, picking up and dropping garment workers.

But it has come to light that for many days, someone had been using his number number plate to evade both government tax and traffic fines. Police contacted the owner of the bus with the fake number plate and obtained information. The owner admitted his mistake and apologised, saying this won’t happen again.a
