BENGALURU: Two men on a two-wheeler threatened a scooterist with a machete at a secluded area in Williams Town on Wednesday and robbed him of valuables, including a mobile phone. The robbery happened in broad daylight around 2.30 pm.

The scooterist was waylaid by the duo.

In CCTV camera visuals that are available, two men on a two-wheeler, wearing helmets to conceal their identities, waylay a scooterist, threaten him with a machete, empty out his pockets and snatch his mobile phone. While one of the duo attacks the man, the other is seen waiting on the two-wheeler.

The armed robber snatched the scooterist’s mobile phone.

After snatching the scooterist’s mobile, the robber even tries to take away a large bag kept in the foot rest area, but leaves as it does not come away easily.

After a video of the robbery was put out on X (Twitter), the city police responded, saying, “Pertaining to this incident, an FIR has been registered in J C Nagar Police Station. Further investigation is under way”.
