CHIKKAMAGALUR: A man was arrested after two people were killed in a shooting incident near Bidare-Chanduvalli village near Balehonnur on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Prakash (30) and Praveen (33) and the accused was identified as Ramesh. Prakash, Praveen and Ramesh are relatives. When the duo was travelling on a motorcycle bike, Ramesh took out a gun and shot them, killing them on the spot.
The police are investigation about how Ramesh got the gun. Also, he is said to be suffering from mental illness. In the Malenadu region, farmers keep guns to protect their crops and lives. The police have launched an investigation to determine whether it is the same gun or a licenced gun.
A case has been registered at the Balehonnur police station. The police have arrested the accused and further investigation is underway.
