BENGALURU: The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear a petition by BJP senior leader B S Yediyurappa and his family members questioning a Karnataka High Court ruling ordering an investigation into a private complaint against him on corruption charges.

Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud on Monday declined to hear the plea and said it will be taken up at a later date.

The Karnataka High Court had ordered an investigation into a private complaint against Yediyurappa and some of his family members alleging corruption. A trial court had earlier dismissed the complaint as it did not have sanction for prosecution.

The high court had overturned the order and directed the Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge’s court to conduct the trial. Yediyurappa had approached the Supreme Court questioning this decision.
