CHITRADURGA: Two people died while one person was severely injured in separate accidents in the district on Friday night.
An 18-year-old girl died after the car in which she was travelling crashed into the retaining wall of the flyover on National Highway-150A and then hit a truck coming in the opposite carriageway near Nagasamudra village in Molkalmuru taluk.
The deceased was identified as Pallavi, hailing from Toranagallu while the severely injured is Suresh. He was shifted to a Ballari hospital for treatment. The incident occurred in Rampura police limits.
In another incident, a pedestrian who was crossing the road was run over by a speeding truck near Nulenoour village in Holalkere taluk. The deceased was identified as Mallijarjuna (52).
In CCTV footage, he can be seen trying to cross the road holding a walking stick when he is struck by the truck. A case has been registered at the Chitrahalli police station.
