Two college students stripped, assaulted by group of seven; accused arrested

BENGALURU: Two students of a private college near Rajanukunte were stripped and assaulted by another group of seven students from the same college at Yelahanka New Town after an argument over a trivial issue.

The seven youths who have been arrested by the Yelahanka New Town police.

The victims, Krishna and Yuvaraj, had gone to check out a rental accommodation where some other students were living. The group of seven then locked up the two inside the house and assaulted them. They also stripped the duo, shot a video of them and threatened them.

After a complaint was registered at the Yelahanka New Town police station, the seven youths have been arrested.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) B M Laxmi Prasad said, “One of the accused, Anamitra, was assaulted by someone in a clash. So he targeted these two to take revenge though they were at no fault. The accused assaulted the two students with a rod and wooden sticks from 2 pm to 8 pm after locking them inside the house. It is also alleged that they burned the victims with cigarettes. The accused got the victims to transfer Rs 50,000 through Phone Pay after threatening them. They also threatened the boys to give Rs 4 lakh. A case of dacoity has been registered against the accused and they have been sent to judicial custody”.
