Traffic was affected for about half an hour as the tusker did not budge.

CHIKKAMAGALUR: A lone tusker had blocked the National Highway-169 for about half an hour in the Kudremukh forest reserve on Sunday, affecting movement of traffic.

The tusker suddenly appeared from the forest and was seen ambling on the highway connecting Kalasa and Mangaluru for about half an hour. With nowhere to go, motorists and some two-wheelier riders spent some anxious moments.

After spending some time on the road, the elephant slowly made its way back into the forest after which vehicular traffic resumed.
