CHIKKODI: A couple and their six-month-old baby died on the spot in a road accident on the outskirts of Raibag town in Belagavi district on Tuesday.
A goods auto collided with a bike, killing the father, mother, and child. Another child was seriously injured and has been admitted to the hospital. The deceased are Mahanthesh Mane (27), his wife Sakshi Mane (23), and their nine-month-old Samarth. They were residents of Bommanal village in Raibag taluk.
The accident occurred while the bike rider was coming from Bommanal village to Raibag. The goods auto, coming from the wrong side, rammed into the bike. As soon as the accident happened, the driver fled, abandoning the auto. A case has been registered at Raibag police station.
