KOPPAL, BALLARI: Three people, including an 18-year-old youth, died after being struck by lightning in different parts of the state on Thursday evening.
At Chukkanakal village in Koppal taluk, two people died when lightning struck when they were trying to close a window at a farmhouse during the rain. The deceased were identified as Manjunath Gali (48) and Govindappa Myagalamani (62). The incident occurred in Koppal Rural police limits when it rained on Thursday evening.
In another incident, Pandu Nayak (18), a resident of Bande Basapura thanda in Kudligi taluk, died after he was struck by lightning when he was standing near a house when it was raining. The house also suffered some damage. The incident occurred in Kudligi police limits.
