Thieves steal from house and make donation at MM Hills temple, land in police net

BENGALURU: Three thieves, who had stolen cash and gold from a house in the city were caught by the police when they came out of the Male Mahadeshwara temple atop MM Hills after making a cash offering to the deity.

Kiran, Nani and Anand had broken into the house of Uma in Murthy Layout under Kempegowda Nagar police limits using a duplicate key and had stolen Rs 3 lakh in cash and gold worth Rs 3.2 lakh. Following the theft, the house owner had lodged a complaint with the Kempegowda Nagar police.

During investigation, the police noticed that a hairdresser’s shop next to the house had remained close ever since the theft. They then traced the trio through the tower location of their mobile phones and caught them outside the temple.

While the police have seized the gold and cash, the culprits admitted that they had made some donation to the temple with the stolen money.
