The thieves used a gas cutter to break open the ATM.

BIDAR: Thieves took away Rs 6.50 lakh in cash from a Karnataka Bank ATM by cutting the machine with a gas cutter near the Varsha Function Hall in Basavakalyan early today.

The thieves had their faces covered and fled in an SUV.

The thieves, who had their faces covered, arrived in an SUV, committed the theft and left the scene by the same vehicle, all in just about 10 minutes.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV camera and the thieves fled towards Ummarga in Maharashtra via Bangla. A case has been registered at the Basavakalyan Town police station.
