Thief steals Rs 2.5 lakh from motorcycle pouch

The thief looks around and quickly snatches the plastic bag with cash from the motorcycle.

VIJAYAPURA: A thief stole Rs 2.5 lakh in cash which was kept in the pouch of a motorcycle when the rider had gone to a mobile repair shop, here on Tuesday afternoon.

Holebasu Sidramappa Hogodi, a resident of Hebbal village in Nidagundi, had withdrawn Rs 2.5 lakh from the Union Bank branch and kept the money in a plastic bag which he had placed in the pouch on the petrol tank of his motorcycle.

On his way back from the bank, Sidramappa stopped by near Eejeri Complex to visit a mobile phone repair shop. After he stepped away from the motorcycle, the thief, who had followed him from the bank, quickly snatched the plastic bag from the motorcycle pouch and fled.

The theft was captured on CCTV camera and a case has been registered at the Nidagundi police station in this regard.
