CHIKKABALLAPUR: A group of students attacked and assaulted Assistant Sub-Inspector Gangaraju of Nandi Giridhama police station in Chikkaballapur taluk after a dispute over loud noise from the silencers of two-wheelers.

The students were riding bikes with altered silencers, creating loud noise in front of Nagarjuna College in Chikkaballapur taluk. When ASI Gangaraju scolded and advised the students, one student shot back saying, “What will he do alone?” This led to an argument and scuffle between the police and the students.
The students ganged up and assaulted him, not even considering he was an ASI. A case has been registered against the students at Nandi Giridhama police station and police are on the lookout for the students involved in the assault.
