Stranger in Assembly hall during budget presentation booked for trespass, sent to jail

BENGALURU: An aged man, who created a security scare at the Vidhana Soudha on Friday during the budget presentation, was been identified as Thipperudrappa, hailing from Chitradurga. After grilling him on Friday, the police arrested him for trespassing and he was later sent to judicial custody.

Thipperudrappa (72), who has two children and a wife, was working as a stenographer in a court in Bengaluru and later started practicing law. Currently, he has given up practice. On Friday, Thipperudrappa, who had managed to secure a pass to the visitors’ gallery, straightaway entered the Assembly hall. When he was stopped by the marshals, he replied that the was the Molkalmuru MLA N Y Gopalakrishna and gained entry.

Thipperudrappa went into the Assemly hall and sat in the seat allotted to JD(S) MLA Karemma G Nayak who represents Devadurga.

After Gurumitkal MLA Sharangouda Kandakur complained to the Speaker, the police were ordered to conduct an investigation. When he was initially detained, Thipperudrappa, who claimed to have interest in politics, gave unconvincing replies to queries by the police. He was later booked for tresspassing and produced before a court which remanded him to judicial custody.
