BENGALURU: The Excise Department has collected Rs 22,157 crore in revenue so far, which is already Rs 2,500 crore more than last year. With four more months to go for the close of the financial year, the officials are confident of achieving the target.
The government has set an revenue target of Rs 36,000 crore for the financial year following which the Excise Department had set a target to liquor shops and bars to increase sales and raise revenue.
This year, the government has earned an additional 12 per cent revenue by increasing the prices of liquor. While the average daily revenue was Rs 80 crore last year, it has already touched Rs 95 crore this year.
