CHIKKABALLAPUR: Popular playback Singer Sonu Nigam and team enthralled the audience at a live music concert on the third day of the Chikkaballapur Utsav-2023 with his soulful rendering.

Several thousands of people thronged the Utsav venue on Monday night to see and hear their favourite singer though it was freezing cold. The audience cheered him with loud whistles and screaming his name when he stepped on to the stage.

Minister Dr K Sudhakar and Minister S T Somashekhar honoured Sonu Nigam on the occasion on Monday.

Sonu Nigam treated the people of Chikkaballapur several popular Kannada and Hindi songs which got the audience on their feet. He sang soulful Kannada songs such as “Kanasali Tumba Kettiruvenu…” from the movie ‘Paramatma’ and ‘Minchagi Neenu Baralu’ from the movie ‘Galipata’, ‘Once Upon a Time Mareyohagilla’ from the movie ‘Ekangi’ and also some hit Hindi tracks.

The audience cheered Sonu Nigam with mobile phone flashlights, clapping and reciprocated his energy throughout the show.

Folk dance Kangilu dance performed by the professional artists troupe at the Utsav.

He took the spectators on a melodious journey with his hit Bollywood tracks and and before leaving the stage, he had sang some emotional, romantic songs.

Following Sonu Nigam’s performance, folk singer Praveen Rao and team entertained the crowd with their soulful presentations.

Folk singer Praveen Rao and team rendered the folk songs at the Utsav on the third day of Utsav.

There were sports events, various outdoor competitions, flower show, food competition and exhibition over the last three days. Several international and national teams of professional artists performed during the Utsav.

Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar has organised the eight-day featuring several cultural programmes. The Utsav started on January 7. Sudhakar and Cooperative Minister S T Somashekhar also felicitated Sonu Nigam.

Popular Kannada playback singers and composers Arjun Janya, Vijay Prakash and team will perform at the Chikkaballupur Utsav on Tuesday night.
