CHIKKAMAGALUR: Seven Bajrang Dal activists were arrested for assaulting a Muslim youth who was going around with a minor girl Hindu girl in Aldur police limits. The Muslim youth has also been booked under the POCSO Act.

Ruman, a dance master at a private college in Ujire, was in the company of the minor girl when he was assaulted on Thursday night. Following this, Bajrang Dal district converner C D Shivakumar, Swaroop Karthik, Madhu, Ranjith and Prajwal were arrested by the Aldur police.

It is said that Ruman was attacked after his photos and videos with the minor girl went viral on social media. In his complaint, Ruman alleged that the Hindu activists kidnapped him and assaulted him.

Meanwhile, the girl’s parents also lodged a complaint against Ruman following which he was booked under the POCSO Act. Additional police forces have been deployed in Aldur as a precautionary measure.
