Senior IPS officer Dr Alok Mohan, the new DG & IGP, to head Karnataka Police

BENGALURU: Senior IPS officer Dr Alok Mohan, Director General of Police and Commandant General, Home Guards, director of Civil Defence, director-general of Fire and Emergency Services and State Disaster Management Force, will take charge as Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG&IGP) as per the order issued by the Karnataka government. He will also hold the post of chairman, Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation, Bengaluru, with effect from May 22, 2023.

This comes in the backdrop of DG&IGP Praveen Sood’s appointment as director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on a central deputation basis for a period of two years. Alok Mohan is due to retire in April 2025.
