Schoolchildren, principal on excursion injured after bus meets with accident

HASSAN: Ten people, including a school principal, six students and a driver were seriously injured when the bus in which they were heading for an excursion met with an accident at Balluru-Koneralu in Belur taluk on Monday morning.

The students of Manasa Gangotri High School, Mysuru, were on a school excursion to Horanadu when the driver lost control and hit a roadside tree around 2.45 am. The bus was carrying a total of 40 students.

The bus was on its way to Horanadu when it hit a roadside tree.

The injured were being treated at Hassan district Hospital and accommodation was arranged for the rest of the students at a lodge nearby. The Belur Rural police visited the spot.
