BENGALURU: Parents of some students of a well-known school have alleged that their wards are being harassed and tortured, and even made to stand outside the school over a dispute related to the school fee.

The angry parents, whose children are studying in Presidency School, Nandini Layout, staged a protest in front of the Rajajinagar Block Education Officer’s office that they are being charged excess fees. They said that the BEO himself had chaired a meeting on the issue and asked the school to collect only 85% of what it had proposed. However, the school authorities are now demanding more and have not even extended instalment facility, they alleged.

The parents further claimed that the school had increased the fees over the last two years. “They say that since it is an ISCE institution, they do not come under the state government”, the parents said, venting their anger at the school and the Education Department.
