KOPPAL: Robbers waylaid a car and made away with Rs 5 lakh after throwing chilli powder at the occupants, near Kilarihatti Daggi in Kushtagi taluk on Tuesday afternoon.
Five men who came on motorcycles, intercepted a Toyota Innova MUV coming from Lingasugur in Raichur district to Koppal, threw chilli powder at the occupants, attacked them with blades and escaped with a bag containing Rs 5 lakh in cash.
The injured Shivanand Idanal, Vijay Mahantesh Palled and Khalid Chavoos have been admitted to the Tavaragera hospital. A case has been registered at the Tavaragera police station and further investigation is under way.
