Road rage cases: Car owners drive off with men on their bonnets in separate cases

BENGALURU: In yet another act of road rage, the owner of a car drove with another man hanging on his bonnet for some distance till other motorists stopped him and rescued the other man at a traffic signal in Malleswaram after both their cars met with an accident. The incident occurred at the Circle Maramma temple roundabout on January 15 and a video of the incident is now viral on social media.

The car belonging to Mohammed Muneer and a taxi belonging to Ashwath collided at the junction after which Ashwath got off his cab and blocked Muneer’s car demanding that he to get off the vehicle. Angered by this, Muneer drove away hitting Ashwath, who clung on to the bonnet.

Some passersby who witnessed the incident gave a chase and rescued Ashwath at the next traffic signal. The Malleswaram police are questioning both Muneer and Ashwath regarding the incident. Joint Commissioner of Police M N Anucheth said, “We are questioning both the drivers. We will take appropriate steps after we have questioned them”.

In another incident in Avalahalli, a car driver knocked down a woman and drove off with a man on his bonnet after some dispute over entering a small road.

In a video, a white sedan is seen trying to enter a narrow road while a line of vehicles are waiting for the car to enter and ease traffic flow. The sedan enters the road, but knocks down a woman pedestrian while suddenly backing up.

The man was thrown on to the road by the car which sped away.

The driver of a hatchback jumped out on seeing this and demanded that the driver of the sedan come to the police station. At this, sedan driver suddenly drove ahead with the driver of the hatchback on his bonnet. The man fell on the road a little distance ahead.

One dead as car hits road divider on Domlur flyover

A car hit the road divider on the Domlur flyover around 4 am on Tuesday, leading to the death of the driver, identified as Sagar (25), on the spot. Four youths were coming to Bengaluru from Kolar in the car when the accident occurred. The injured were admitted to the CV Raman Hospital. The Halasur traffic police have registered a case.
