BENGALURU: Investigation into real estate businessman Lokanat Singh’s murder near Hessaraghatta has uncovered a shocking revelation. Initially, police suspected old rivals or rowdies, but shockingly, his wife and mother-in-law were involved in the murder. He is said to be a close aide of Magadi MLA Balakrishna.
Lokanat had married a woman in December after blackmailing her family. The woman’s parents, anxious about their daughter’s future and family reputation, had agreed to the marriage.
The mother-in-law came to BGS Layout with her son-in-law and daughter on March 22. They had come to a place belonging to Lokanat Singh and had a party. The husband and wife had a party in an under-construction building. At that time, they asked the gunman who was with them to bring something. The son-in-law, Lokanat Singh, had consumed a lot of liquor, and his mother-in-law, thinking that it was the right time, gave him sleeping pills during dinner.
When the son-in-law fell asleep, the mother-in-law slit his throat with a sharp weapon. Lokanat, who was sedated by the sleeping pills, died on the spot. Currently, the Soladevanahalli police have taken the mother and daughter into custody and are interrogating them.
