The youth was stabbed for advising a group not to pop wheelies on the roads.

SHIVAMOGGA: A Hindu youth, who questioned a group of Muslim youths who were popping wheelies, was stabbed at Shikaripur in the district on Tuesday night. The victim Sushil (23) is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Shivamogga.

The Shikaripur Town police have arrested two of the accused and are questioning them. Meanwhile, Shivamogga MP B Y Raghavendra, along with hundreds of BJP workers, sat on protest in front of the police station and condemned the attack. He aslo accused the Congress of supporting communal forces and added that the government has failed to provide security to Hindus.

Police Superintendent Mithun Kumar said Sushil, a computer teacher, had advised the youths who were popping wheelies near his house not to do so as there would be children and elderly people moving around. “On Tuesday too, he advised the youths not to pop wheelies. One accused, Mubarak, has been arrested and another minor is being questioned. The police are on the lookout for two more youths and three teams have been formed. They are suspected to have fled towards Mangaluru and Bengaluru”, he said.

The father of the victim, Chennaveerappa told mediapersons at Metro Hospital, “They stabbed him only for advising not to pop wheelies. My son would not interfere in anyone’s affairs. Just because he advised them not to pop wheelies, they came near our house and stabbed him”.
