NEW DELHI: Sharing his experience on his visit to the top court premises, Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda has said that he felt overwhelmed and enlightened and praised the current Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud for making the judicial process paperless and livestreaming of the proceedings.
In an exclusive interview, Randeep Hooda responded to questions related to his visit to the Supreme Court and said that it was “overwhelming and enlightening.”
Replying about his experience of visiting the Supreme Court and attending the proceedings here, Randeep Hooda shared his feelings about those matters that he attended, among which one was related to idol immersion rituals of Lord Ganesh in Pune.
“The feeling of decorum and sheer sense of respect, protocol and the end of the road of justice is immense. Things like allowing of dhol Tasha playing in pune for Ganapathi festival to a plea for conversion of a death penalty to life imprisonment over a heinous crime being heard and decided keeping humanity in mind, in the most pious of our institutions, that will have a far reaching effect for our future as society highlighted the sense of the responsibility it carries. “
Appreciating the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud’s effort in bringing many changes in the judicial process, which includes paperless and livestreaming proceedings, Randeep Hooda said, “It’s so modern and with it. Though the old long fans still hang from the ceilings, it’s air conditioned and digitised with state of the art mics and audio and computing systems.”
“Thanks to the efforts of the current CJI DY Chandrachud, it’s paperless, with live streaming and with orders passed in regional languages that make it more accessible to the larger public,” Hooda said.
In a reply to questions over the difference between reel life and real life, Randeep Hooda said he hasn’t seen any movie that depicts this progress in our country, even though there are not many movies that deal with the magnitude of the Supreme Court. “Most entertain us with lower court proceedings, which I haven’t had much privy to in real life either. I hope we are able to encapsulate the new India and judiciary in a movie in the near future,” Hooda said.
Randeep Hooda thanked his friend advocate Vineet Dhanda, who helped him visit the top court without having any case matter.”First of all, I felt lucky that I got to see and observe it without having a case matter where I was involved in. A big relief at that I must say. I got the opportunity to attend and take in the whole atmosphere, thanks to, my dear friend Vineet Dhanda who is presently the standing counsel Union of India. I have been toying with a few ideas of humanising the judiciary, their human biases and experiences that they have to rise above l, to give orders and judgments that have far reaching effects on our human society and country. The sheer isolation while living in the larger society is cross they must bear and they do that with so much dignity,” Randeep Hooda said.
He also shared his experience of his visit with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and said, “I had a wonderful interaction with the Vice President and really got to see the man behind the important post he carries. He has vast experience with law and society at large of our great country looked upon with humanity, positivity and a great sense of humour and charm, which was very inspirational.”
Randeep Hooda further added that belonging to the same Jat community also was a matter of honour, as after Choudary Charan Singh and Choudary Devilal, Jagdeep Dhankhar is the one who holds such a constitutional post.
“It serves as a great boost to the community in general and to me personally. The community’s contribution does really go beyond the armed forces and sportsmen and women. I hope to do the same as an artist,” Randeep Hooda said. (ANI)
