BELAGAVI: A PWD contractor attempted suicide on the premises of the Belagavi Public Works Department office after the officials’ refused to pay his pending bills for works carried out.
The PWD contractor Nagappa Bangi of Bailhongal taluk tried to commit suicide by consuming poison in the premises of the department, while Belagavi executive engineer S S Soraba was also present in the PWD office.
Locals immediately took Nagappa Bangi to a private hospital where he was treated. Currently, he is out of danger and undergoing further treatment.
