Puneeth Rajkumar’s fans appeal for tax exemption for his last, Gandhadagudi

BENGALURU: Fans of the late Puneeth Rajkumar have petitioned the state government to exempt his last docu-drama film, Gandhadagudi, from taxation because it has a strong message about saving wildlife and forests.

The late actor Puneeth Rajkumar’s docu-drama Gandhadagudi is to be released on October 28.

Gandhadagudi is about exploring nature along with director Amogavarsha. The two travel to an island in Karnataka, and talk about the ecosystem. The movie is a docu-drama and also the late actor’s dream project. It is all set for a grand release on October 28.

Movies released earlier in the state, like Kashmir Files and 777 Charlie, have been given tax exemption in the state due to their strong social message.

In keeping with the late actor Puneeth Raj Kumar’s love for food, the Raj Donne Biriyani Mane is all set for a food fest and the main menu of the restaurant will include the actor’s favourite foods, Biriyani and Mutton Chops. The restaurant has also been decorated in memory of the actor.

The Food Fest at Raj Donne Biriyani honours the late actor, and the fest is dedicated to his final film, Gandhadgudi.

The Gandhadagudi pre-release event ‘Puneeth Parva’ is to be held at the Palace Grounds on October 21. More that five lakh fans of the late actor fans are expected to participate in the event.

Puneeth Rajkumar has made great contribution to the industry as well as to society. BJP leader N R Ramesh has proposed naming the steel bridge flyover being constructed in the Shivananda Circle in memory of the late actor.
