BENGALURU: A PUC II student was found suspiciously dead in the bathroom of her house with her throat and wrist slit when no one else was at home, in Subramanyapura police limits on Wednesday late afternoon.

Prabhudya (21) was studying in a private college and was found lying in the bathroom by her brother on returning home. Their mother was away at work at that time. The incident is said to have occurred around 3.30 pm on Wednesday. The autopsy was conducted on Thursday.

The girl’s mother, a social activist, insisted that Prabhudhya was mentally strong and would not commit suicide. “She called me around 1.30 pm and said she was having chaats with her friends. The main door of the house was closed, but the rear door was open. Initially, her mobile phone was on the sofa, but after I took her to the hospital, it went missing”, she claimed.

The grieving mother of the deceased girl alleged that it was a case of murder.

“My daughter would talk of bringing reforms in education. She was not the type would commit suicide. This is not suicide, this is murder”, the grieving mother said.

A senior police officer said they are looking into how she fared in education and whether there were other causes that led to her death. “She was found dead with her throat and wrist slit and died due to blood loss. We are awaiting the post mortem report and we are investigating in all angles.
