CHAMARAJANAGAR: Prohibitory orders have been imposed in Mamballi village limits in Yelandur taluk after villagers buried the body of a dead person in the gram panchayat premises on Thursday.
The prohibitory orders were issued by Tahsildar Anandappa N. The action of the villagers was prompted by lack of a proper burial ground.
The villagers have been demanding a burial ground for the last few years. A piece of land was allotted as a temporary measure, but that too has been inundated due to the incessant rain. Angered by the lax response of the authorities, they buried the body of a villager in the gram panchayat premises.
