VIJAYAPURA: Two days after Public TV reported about the plight of nursing mothers who had undergone C-section at the district maternity hospital, Deputy Commissioner Vijaymahantesh Danammanavar visited the hospital and took stock of the situation. He has also ordered for a detailed probe.
Several women had to suffer torturous pain after the stitches came off and they started bleeding. Some have even developed infection. Injections and other medicines for nursing mothers were also not administered.
The DC collected information from attendants of the nursing mothers and also held discussions with the hospital doctors and staff.
The probe team will be headed by the Vijayapura assistant commissioner and will include the district health officer, the child development officer. They have been directed to file a detailed report in 48 hours following which the future course of action will be decided.
