BENGALURU: The Govindarajnagar police have been accused of hiring two youths to attack a father-son duo after they complained to senior officials about false charges and ill-treatment. The victims of the assault are TV Manjunath and his son Vishwanath, residents of Govindarajanagar in the city.
Vishwanath, who was assaulted, was reportedly present at the scene of a murder that took place a few days ago. Suspecting him, police allegedly took Vishwanath into custody, interrogated him, and assaulted him. Finally, after it was found that he had no connection to the case, it was alleged that the police demanded money to release him.
Later , Vishwanath brought it to the attention of senior officers and was released without paying any money. Angered by this, some staff members allegedly called two youths with criminal backgrounds and gave them a contract to assault Vishwanath.
Two youths arrived near the house wielding a sword and suddenly attacked the father and son. During the attack, they allegedly said they had instructions from the police to assault them, beat them mercilessly, and escaped. The assaulted father Srinivas and son Vishwanath have filed an FIR at the Govindarajanagar police station.
