HUBBALLI: Following the spate of thefts from parked vehicles in the city at night, the police have stepped up checking on major roads.
The thefts were committed by breaking the windows of vehicles in similar fashion and valuable articles kept inside were stolen. The thefts were reported on Koppikar Road, Gokul Road and other places.
The police are now conducting checks on all vehicles on Gadag Road, Bagalkot Road, Airport Road and Dharwad Road in an attempt to crack down on the thefts and nab the culprits.
