Plywood-laden truck gutted in stove burst

The truck caught fire after a stove lit by the driver to cook food burst.

VIJAYAPURA: A Tamil Nadu-registered plywood-laden truck was completely burnt in an accidental fire near Unnibavi Cross on NH-50 in Nidagundi on Monday. The driver sustained burn injuries in the arm and leg in the incident.

The driver had parked the truck near a dhaba and had lit a stove to cook food when it burst. The truck was on its way from Kerala to Solapur in Maharashtra when the incident occurred.

A fire tender were sent from Basavana Badewadi to the spot two hours after the fire broke out. By then, the truck was completely gutted. The Nidagundi police have registered a case.
