Play stopped midway in Sorab village after Hindu activists allege communal overtones

The play 'Jotegiruvanu Chandira' was stopped midway after Hindu activists objected to it.

SHIVAMOGGA: A play being enacted on stage was halted midway after Bajrang Dal activists objected to it.

The play ‘Jotegiruvanu Chandira’, written by well known writer Jayanth Kaikini, was been staged at the Veerashaiva community hall at Aanavatti village in Sorab taluk on Sunday night. The event was organised by the Kannada Sahitya Parishat and the Janapada Parishat.

A group of Bajrang Dal activists arrived on the scene and objected to the portrayal of Muslims as good people and it was centered around Muslim characters.

The police arrived on the scene and play was stopped midway by the organisers.
