BENGALURU: A car owner in the city has alleged that the windshield of the car was shattered and the vehicle sustained dents after a metal object fell on his vehicle while he was passing under the Sandal Soap Factory Metro station on Friday.

In his complaint to the Subramanya Nagar police, Ritesh Shetty said that a big piece of metal rod fell on his car when he was passing through the Sandal Soap metro station while on his way from Basaveshwara Nagar to Peenya on Friday due to which the windscreen was shattered and caused dents on the bonnet. He also sought action against Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) alleging negligence.

When the Public TV reached the Metro station, the Metro staff tried to prevent the crew from filming anything saying that permission was necessary. Meanwhile, BMRCL Chief Engineer Yashwant Chauhan denied that any work was going on at the station and said BMRCL is not responsible for the accident. “If at all Metro, is responsible, let the police investigate”, he told Public TV.
