Passenger from Bangkok arrested at KIA after 10 yellow anacondas found in baggage

Ten yellow anaconda snakes were found in the passenger's check-in baggage.

BENGALURU: A passenger was caught by Customs officials at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) carrying 10 yellow anaconda snakes. The passenger arrived on a flight from Bangkok.

The passenger had concealed the reptiles in his check-in baggage and was detected during checking. He was then arrested and questioned. A case was registered against him for wildlife trafficking.

The seized reptiles were later released safely in a forest. The yellow anaconda is a riverine species and is usually found close to water bodies.
