MANDYA: A teacher at the government higher primary school at Baby in Mandya taluk has been accused of sexually harassing girl students for over two years.
Parents of students, in a letter to the Education Department officials had alleged that the teacher, Mahadevu, used to touch the girls inappropriately and sexually harass them. The teacher has been indulging in such acts over the last two years, and yet the deaprtment had not acted against him, they charged.
In the light of the allegations, the parents, Education Department officials and the school development and management committee (SDMC) members held a meeting on Friday. The parents alleged inaction by the department too and insisted that the teacher should be suspended.
