TUMAKURU: While leopards are known to attack dogs, in a rare incident, an eight-month-old leopard was killed by stray dogs at Mavukere village in the taluk. The leopard had been spotted around Kora hobli over the last few days.
The leopard had been trying to attack dogs in the villages and though the Forest Department was informed about the sighting, nothing had been done to capture the animal.
On Friday night, a pack of dogs attacked the young leopard, killing it. Forest officials visited the spot on Saturday.
