BENGALURU: An overspeeding Toyota Innova MUV hit a parked autorickshaw after one of its tyres burst. The compound wall of a house was also damaged in the incident.
The accident occurred on Lalbagh Road and was captured on a CCTV camera. The tyre of the car, which was going towards Jayanagar through Lalbagh Road at high speed on an empty road, suddenly burst. The car then hurtled towards a house, and the elderly man narrowly escaped death.
In the incident, the compound of a house collapsed and the car and autorickshaw were damaged. A case has been registered with the V V Puram traffic police regarding the incident.
The incident took place at 11 am on January 26 and the car driver fled after hitting the autorickshaw. He punched a woman who was crossing the road near the Le Arabia Hotel in Basaveshwarnagar in city. He also did not try to help the woman who got injured. The police are looking out for the accused.
