Nursery schoolkid crushed under wheels of BMTC bus in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A four-and-a-half-year-old schoolgirl was killed after she came under the wheels of a speeding BMTC bus, near Padmavati Silk showroom on Uttarahalli main road in Bengaluru on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Purvi Rao (4).

The girl’s father Prasanna was taking her to school on a two-wheeler when a speeding BMTC bus collided with the bike. Due to the impact, Prasanna fell to the left side of the bike, while Purvi fell on the right side. She was crushed under the wheels of the BMTC bus and died on the spot.

The deceased Purvi Rao’s father, Prasanna, is an employee of Cisco Company. Purvi was going to nursery school (Pre-KG) at Bengaluru International Public School (BIPS). The father used to drop his daughter off to school evey day before going to work. Like other days, today too, he was taking his daughter on the bike to drop her off at school.

The police arrested the bus driver and began questioning him. A case has been registered at Kumaraswamy Layout traffic police station.
