Hinduism, Christianity and Islam are the 'imported religion - Actor Chetan said on Twitter

BENGALURU: Continuing with his controversial stand on Hindu culture, actor Chetan Kumar posted a contentious statement on his Twitter handle on Thursday, which has now stirred up a storm over the history of Hindus and original inhabitants of the country.

In his objectionable statement, Chetan Kumar said that ‘Hinduism, Christian and Islam are ‘imported religions’, but are also integral as other religions. “India has plethora of diverse, vibrant cultural/religious traditions. Movmnt to preserve & recognise our adivasi/alemaari/Moolnivasi universes in ongoing. ‘Imported’ religions Hinduism, Christianity & Islam-like all other religions-are also integral. We must oppose all inequality” (SIC), he tweeted.

On Tuesday, he had waded into a controversy by stating that ‘Bhoota Kola is not part of Hindu culture, while referring to the the movie ‘Kantara’.

Irked by Chetan’s statements on Hindu culture, Hindu Jagaran Vedike activists on Thursday filed a complaint against Chetan at Karkala police station claiming that they been hurt by his controversial statements and demanded action against him.
