BENGALURU: A notorious murderer, who has a criminal background and was involved in multiple crimes, was arrested in the city.
The accused is Girish was involved in many criminal cases, including sexual assault and robbery. He had been jailed for 10 months in 2020. After that, he worked as an assistant in a hotel and was also a mason.
Meanwhile, he started stealing with the intention of making easy money. Girish resorted to stealing along with his friend Suresh and they would target people sleeping on the roadside at night and steal their belongings.
They used to threaten and extort people who were single and lived around City Market and Majestic area. Girish then killed his friend in City Market and stolen his mobile phone on May 18 behind the market.
A clash broke out between the friends over a mobile phone when then Girish assaulted Suresh and killed him by hitting him on the head with a stone.
A few days earlier, Girish had murdered a man by crushing his head with a stone for refusing to give cigarettes on May 12, under Banashankari police station limits. The Banashankari police are currently investigating him.
