Muslim woman writes apology letter after wearing footwear at Badami cave temple

BAGALKOT: After a controversy erupted over wearing footwear at the Badami cave temple, the Muslim girl, who claimed to be an employee of the Archaeological Survey of India finally wrote an apology letter and expressed regret.

A controversy had erupted after a woman tourist objected to Roshini Musthapi wearing footwear at the Badami cave temple. She wouldn’t listen no matter how many times she was told. When asked by a woman tourist, she says ‘stop’ (it’s personal).

On Monday, the Muslim girl was wearing footwear at the historic Menabasadi temple in Badami. A Hindu woman tourist, who noticed it, reprimanded her. The Hindu woman had reprimanded her, saying “Do we go to a dargah wearing footwear?”

The video went hugely viral on social media, and there was outrage that it hurt Hindu sentiments. Following public outrage, the Muslim girl wrote a letter seeking apology.

The ASI staffer wrote an apology letter and expressed regret. Later, after submitting an apology letter to the Archaeology Department, the controversy ended peacefully.
