Is this what you were taught at home?” they questioned her.
The youths surrounded the dueo and took them to task using abusive language. The girl tried to defend herself and protect Hindu youth, but the gang did not allow them to speak out. The girl warned the youths not to interfere in their personal matters. Despite the warning, one among them slapped her and assaulted the youth too.
The incident was captured on video, which has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage. The video has been shared on a social media page called “Namma Modi.”
Many people have questioned the state government, asking CM Siddaramaiah if this was not an act of moral policing. “Has Sharia law been implemented in the state”? they questioned. Currently, the police are tracking down the source of the video and are searching for the youths’ gang.
“There are several instances of groups assaulting Hindu youth for talking to Muslim girls, but the police are not taking any action against them. When Muslim youths, posing as Hindu, cheat Hindu girls, Hindu groups lodge complaints with the police, but when Muslim groups attack Hindu youths, no one speaks up”, said Mohan Gowda of Hindu Janajagruti Vedike
