BALLARI: In a heart-warming incident, a monkey paid its last respects to an aged man who used to feed it bananas every day, after the man died at Hale Hagaribommanahalli in Vijayanagar district.
Parashuram Shah (88) used to feed bananas to a monkey every day for the last two months and they developed a bond. Parashuram died on Ramanavami day, just a day after his 88th birthday.
As his mortal remains were kept in state at home for relatives to pay their respects when the monkey turned up, sat near the feet of the old man with folded hands for a while, as if paying homage, went up to the man’s face and seemed to plant a peck on his cheek. Videos of the incident have now gone viral on social media.
