BENGALURU: The city traffic police getting down to fill potholes in city to ease traffic has generated much debate online with netizens questioning whether it is the job of the police to fill road potholes.
On Friday, the Whitefield traffic police took up temporary pothole filling work on the Varthur-Gunjur road. The road regularly witnesses traffic jams for up to one hour over a distance of 1 km, causing trouble to office-goers and school children also. The road work not completed even after four years and residents have expressed outrage over the dust and regular traffic jams.

Former CFO of Infosys, T V Mohandas Pai, questioned why the police were filling potholes on road, while expressing severe dissatisfaction against GBA officials. He demanded action against officials for dereliction of duty.
