BENGALURU: With senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa taking the backstage and no other major mass leaders in Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will be leading the party’s charge in the run-up to the Assembly elections.

Modi has indicated to the central leadership that he will make himself available for 4-5 days in February, following which the party top brass is working out major plans. The state unit is also being given instructions to prepare for the PM’s visits and draw up schedules. Accordingly, the state leadership is preparing a blueprint for Modi’s tours as per his availability.

As per intelligence reports available with the party, it is suggested that the Modi magic will be necessary for the party in Karnataka, especially with Yediyurappa almost out of reckoning. It is expected that Modi will sound the poll bugle during his February visits to the Old Mysuru, Bengaluru and central Karnataka regions.
