According to officials, about 20.9 km of the tunnel’s construction work has been completed. A total of 18 stations are being built and the plan has been taken up in four packages. The work has been fully completed in some places, while 70 per cent to 80 per cent is completed in other places. According to Metro officials told, the remaining work will be completed by March 2025.
Shivakumar sought the cooperation of officials, contractors and the government to complete the work on time.
“For building ‘Brand Bangalore’, the work is progressing at a fast pace by giving priority to solving the traffic congestion”, he stated. “Major plans are being discussed for the development of Bengaluru. We are studying the pros and cons of tunnel road construction. We are looking at how it is being done in other states. I will inform about this soon. These works are being done technically and are very safe. It is not important who is criticising it, but it takes time”, he added.
