BENGALURU: Two days after the formal announcement of allocation of portfolios to the newly sworn-in ministers, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah allotted additional portfolios of two ministers on Wednesday.
M B Patil was allotted the Infrastructure Development portfolio along with the earlier Large and Medium Industries department. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s son and Chittapur MLA Priyank Kharge has been given the Ministry of IT and BT along with Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot issued a notification on the advice of CM, modifying an earlier notification of May 28, 2023, mentioning that the reallocated portfolios will be implemented with immediate effect.
According to the latest reallocation of portfolios, CM Siddaramaiah will hold the departments of Finance, Cabinet Affairs, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Intelligence, Information and all other unallocated portfolios.
Earlier, the CM had held the portfolios of IT and BT, Infrastructure Development too. With the latest change, Siddaramaiah has divested himself of the two portfolios.
